Rebrand 100 Merit Award 2012



The Comox Valley Airport (CVA) has gone through some significant changes in their facilities and services (new routes, new airlines, new terminal), and were then looking to renew and develop a new brand to complement these developments.

The people from the Valley felt tremendous ownership of CVA and felt that the airport should truly represent the Comox Valley as a unique community; friendly, welcoming and full of local flavor. On the other hand, the Comox Valley Airport Commission had ambitious business growth objectives and wanted to be represented as a top terminal to appeal to new international airlines. The brand had to bridge the best of both worlds.

We developed a brand that resonated with all audiences. The new look & feel encapsulated the new brand essence of World­Class, Local Charm with a new multidimensional logo that spoke to CVA as central point of connections and reinforced the tagline “Where journeys begin.” An inspiring hand drawn illustration and typographic style brings to life the stories of travelers while the colour palette is inspired from the local charm of the landscape.
